David Lim is an Asian-American actor who grew up in San Ramon, California. He earned a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, San Diego, and initially worked as a loan officer. Seeking a new career direction, David signed with Ford Models and relocated to Los Angeles to pursue a career in modeling and acting.
After starring in numerous commercials for brands like Gillette, Bud Light, McDonald’s, Dave & Buster’s, and Apple, David Lim landed a role in the ABC thriller series Quantico as Sebastian Chen, a CIA recruit. This role jumpstarted his acting career.
He currently stars as a series regular in the CBS drama S.W.A.T. alongside Shemar Moore. David plays Victor Tan, a relatively new S.W.A.T. officer who made his name in the Hollywood Division before advancing to the heights of LAPD and Metro S.W.A.T. The series is a testament to the power of fandom, as it was twice cancelled and brought back by CBS for an eighth season because of fan demand.
Aside from acting, David has developed a new jewelry line with his wife Marketa called Maya David. After a burglary robbed them of their most prized possessions of sentimental value, the duo embarked on a journey of reinvention and transformation, putting their energy into creating their own jewelry. Nearly every piece is handmade by David and Marketa, ensuring the highest level of quality and attention to detail and a reflection of their travels with an homage to the natural world. They use semi-precious gemstones, 925 sterling silver, and 14k solid gold.
David and Marketa are deeply committed to giving back, a value they have seamlessly integrated into their work with Maya David. Partnering with One Tree Planted, an organization dedicated to global reforestation, they are actively contributing to the restoration of forests worldwide. To underscore this commitment, David donated his winnings from a charity cornhole tournament to support reforestation projects. Their continued support of this vital cause highlights their dedication to creating a meaningful and lasting impact on the planet.
