Sophie began her acting career at the age of seven, appearing in national commercials after moving to Montreal from Windsor, Ontario. She made her feature film debut at just 10 years old in the 2012 French-Canadian film “Monsieur Lazhar.” For her performance in the film, she won a Genie and a Jutra Award for Best Supporting Actress.
She went on to star in Luc Picard’s 2012 feature “Esimésac” before being asked to audition for a lead role in Twentieth Century Fox’s Oscar-nominated feature film, “The Book Thief.” She landed the part of Liesel Meminger (opposite Geoffrey Rush and Emily Watson), a young girl who finds solace by stealing books and sharing them with others while being subjected to the horrors of World War II in Germany. In 2019, Sophie starred in “47 Meters Down: Uncaged.”
Sophie can currently be seen starring on Showtime’s critically acclaimed drama/thriller series, “Yellowjackets.” Starring opposite Melanie Lynskey, Tawny Cypress and Ella Purnell, Sophie captivated audiences throughout season one as Shauna, a member of the Yellowjackets soccer team.
