Born and raised in Roxbury, a Boston neighborhood, by a single mom with four children, Michael Beach was an athlete who never expected to be an actor. After performing in a few plays at Noble and Greenough School, he auditioned for, got accepted to and later graduated from the prestigious Juilliard School Of Drama in NYC. For the past forty years, Beach has worked with many acclaimed actors, producers and directors on over 70 feature films and hundreds of hours of television. He continues to love his job and is grateful to still be doing it after all these years.

In what might be one of our favorite audition stories in “That One Audition” history, actress Jameela Jamil takes us step by step through every honest and hilarious moment leading to her bookig the role of Tahani on NBC’s hit comedy “The Good Place.” From her first ever audition with renowned casting director Allison Jones, to improvising on the fly during her network test, Jameela says that when you live for the funny story, you ultimately can’t lose — no matter the outcome of the audition. Some of her additional credits include “Poker Face,” “Marry Me,” “She-Hulk Attorney at Law,” and “DC League of Super-Pets.” In today’s episode, Jameela shares techniques for staying present in an audition, lessons learned from her co-stars including Kristen Bell and Ted Danson, and the importance of finding reps who support you in the kinds of characters you want to play. Carly graduated from high school in Vancouver in 1998. She made her American screen debut in I’ve Been Waiting for You. Her most noticeable roles to date are “Molly White” in Trapped in a Purple Haze, and “Sam McPherson” in TV’s Popular. She auditioned for roles on Roswell before she landed the role of “Sam McPherson”. Carly had a series regular role in the HBO MAX spinoff series PRETTY LITTLE LIARS: ORIGINAL SIN. She previously did on the Amblin feature EASTER SUNDAY for director Jay Chandrasekhar and producers Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich. She previously worked with Neill Bloomkamp as the female lead of his AGC feature DEMONIC..

She shot the lead of the independent film, THE MENTAL STATE opposite Bryan Greenberg, which won awards at the Newport and Catalina Film Festivals, and recurred on the Paramount TV show, FIRST WIVES CLUB.

She previously worked on the feature film THE LOST HUSBAND opposite Josh Duhamel and Leslie Bibb. Previously, she was the lead in the Lifetime feature film DO UNTO OTHERS, and had recurring roles in SUITS and ARROW. She is great in the short project RAKKA which Neil Bloomkamp directed opposite Sigourney Weaver, as well as the indie THE LAST LONELY PLACE opposite Rhys Coiro and Xander Berkley. She has a great recurring role in THE GOOD DOCTOR.

Kirsten Vangsness has been widely known as the bespectacled-brainy-tech-kitten Penelope Garcia on the CBS hit drama “Criminal Minds” (and its spin-off “Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior” and “Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders”). She has long been a fan favorite, beloved for her vibrant personality and quirky style. Most recently “Criminal Minds” was re-imagined for Paramount+ and picked up for its second season on the streamer, making that a grand total of 17 seasons and counting for the iconic series. Kirsten has been a staple in homes across the world for over 18 years. Alongside starring in the series, she has co-written five episodes for the procedural series, including the series finale, alongside showrunner Erica Messer.

Kirsten was selected to present her one-woman show, “MESS,” and ensemble production of “Cleo, Theo and Wu” on the international stage at the prestigious 2019 Edinburgh Festival Fringe as part of her FEMPIRE series. Her collection of shows cultivate power within the feminine self on a stage, and empower others to find their light and create opportunities for all women to shine.

She has enjoyed a long and varied career, which includes being a longtime member and former president of Hollywood’s Theatre of Note’s Artistic Board. Her stage work has garnered the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Natalie Schafer Award for best emerging comic actress, the 15 Minutes of Fem Best Actress Award, and a Garland Award for best actress for the West Coast premiere of Neil LaBute’s Fat Pig at the Geffen Playhouse.

Kirsten is originally from Porterville, CA and graduated from California State University, Fullerton. She currently resides in Los Angeles, and can currently be seen weekly on her Youtube show: Kirsten’s Agenda.

Randall Slavin was born in Hollywood, CA. While working a dead-end job in a gas station, Slavin wandered into a local photography studio & struck up a friendship with the owner. He took the young Slavin under his wing & taught him a few photography basics, then promptly fired him a few months later. Faced with nowhere else to turn, he put one foot in front of the other & never looked back. Slavin had his photography debut in the prestigious New York Times Magazine. His work has appeared in Vanity Fair, GQ, Esquire, Rolling Stone & many others. Slavin had his first exhibit in Paris in 2008 & a solo show at Annenberg Space For Photography in 2011. He received the 2011 Hollywood Style Award for “Photographer of the Year” and is releasing his first book of his photography, WE ALL WANT SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL.

Slavin has captured most of the iconic faces of Hollywood from Charlize Theron to Dennis Hopper, Zoe Saldana, Terrance Howard, Ethan Hawke, Eva Longoria, Emma Roberts and so many more.
