Peeling Back the Onion of Movies, Character, and Connection.

Swedish actress Noomi Rapace was born into an artistic family and by the age of seven was making appearances in movies and TV shows in her adoptive home of Iceland. At 15, she returned to Sweden to enroll in the Stockholm Theatre School, and just a few years later was earning accolades in Europe both on-stage and in film.

She achieved international fame with her portrayal of Lisbeth Salander in the Swedish film adaptations of the Millennium Series: “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo,” “The Girl Who Played with Fire,” and “The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets Nest.” In 2011, she was nominated for a BAFTA Award for Best Actress for her performance “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo,” as well as an International Emmy Award for Best Actress for the miniseries version of the trilogy.

By 2011, Noomi was taking her talent directly to English-speaking audiences, appearing in Guy Ritchie’s “Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows,” and following that up as the lead in Ridley Scott’s “Alien” prequel “Prometheus.” Her many credits also include “Daisy Diamond,” “Beyond,” “The Monitor,” “Dead Man Down,” “Child 44,” and “What Happened to Monday.” Noomi produced and stars in her latest film, “The Secrets We Keep,” with Joel Kinnaman and Chris Messina. Look out for its release September 2020.

Perfect is Boring: Winning with Your Imperfections // Lessons in Long-term Relationships With Yourself, Your Art, and Your Team

James Badge Dale is an American actor known for his early work in the 1990 film adaptation of Lord of the Flies, and his roles on the popular Fox TV series 24, HBO’s The Pacific, and AMC’s Rubicon.

James was born in New York City to actress Anita Morris and actor/choreographer Grover Dale. At 10 he was picked out of his 5th grade class in Wonderland Elementary School to play Simon in Lord Of The Flies. After five months on location in Jamaica, he returned to California and took a pause from the industry. He pursued hockey and played as a goalie at Manhattanville College until an injury prevented him from playing. This break from sports re-ignited his passion for acting and he decided to move to NYC to train as an actor.

Since then, and in addition to working on several award-winning TV series, he’s been in multiple feature films including The Departed with Jack Nicholson, Iron Man 3, World War Z, The Lone Ranger, Parkland, and Only The Brave. Currently you can watch him starring as Detective Ray Abruzzo in STARZ’s new crime drama Hightown.

“I think that’s a big thing for writers out there who might be listening to this podcast is, you know, it starts with producing material and producing as much material as you can, that you can get into as many hands as possible, but then there is a little bit of serendipity and trust and all of those things involved to actually get stuff on the air.”

“You are perceived in a certain way whether you like it or not.”

“Everybody has a story to tell, its a contract you’ll never sign.”

“The things that you like the least about yourself are the the things you should own up to first with strangers and it will make people connect with you quicker.”
