There’s Only Your Way: The Journey Back to Artistry

A talented actor and burgeoning director, Manish Dayal continues to engage audiences with dynamic projects.

Currently, Dayal can be seen reprising his role as ‘Dr. Devon Pravesh’ on the fourth season of Fox’s THE RESIDENT, opposite Matt Czuchry and Emily VanCamp. The show follows a group of doctors at Chastain Memorial Hospital as they face personal and professional challenges on a daily basis. The show airs Tuesday nights at 8PM ET.

Dayal is currently in development on the feature STRINGER, which he will star in and produce. Based on Anjan Sundaram’s memoir, Stringer: A Reporter’s Journey into the Congo, the feature follows Sundaram’s 18-month journey as a freelance journalist in the Congo and offers an inside look at the atrocities occurring within the country.

Most recently, Dayal was seen as ‘Faarooq’ in Netflix’s HOLIDATE. Directed by John Whitesell and written by Tiffany Paulsen, the comedy co-stars Emma Roberts, Luke Bracey and Kristin Chenowith. The film was released on October 28, 2020 and quickly became one of the streamer’s Top 10 movies.

Previously, he lent his voice to the role of ‘Shashi Dhar’ in Vin Diesel’s animated Netflix series FAST & FURIOUS: SPY RACERS. The series was released on December 26, 2019.

Dayal is perhaps best known for his starring role opposite Helen Mirren in THE HUNDRED-FOOT JOURNEY, directed by Lasse Hallström and produced by Steven Spielberg and Oprah Winfrey. The film premiered at the 2014 Deauville Film Festival and later screened at the 2014 San Sebastian Film Festival.

Other film credits include VICEROY’S HOUSE alongside Gillian Anderson, Hugh Bonneville and Michael Gambon, and the short film, FIFTEEN YEARS LATER, which marked Dayal’s directorial debut. Dayal also stars in the film opposite Matt McGorry and Rachel Brosnahan.

On television, he has appeared in notable roles in HALT AND CATCH FIRE and MARVEL’S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. Additional credits include 90210, LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT, THE GOOD WIFE, RUBICON and SWITCHED AT BIRTH.

“Sometimes doing nothing, and being quick, is great direction…”

“In order to tell the stories that you want to tell, and reflect the world that you’re living in, and the reality that you believe and should be reflected, you have to tell that story. You have to become a creator. You have to try to narrate that vision.”

“We all need lows as actors in order to know where we’re going and where we’re coming from.”

Perfect is Boring: Winning with Your Imperfections // Lessons in Long-term Relationships With Yourself, Your Art, and Your Team

James Badge Dale is an American actor known for his early work in the 1990 film adaptation of Lord of the Flies, and his roles on the popular Fox TV series 24, HBO’s The Pacific, and AMC’s Rubicon.

James was born in New York City to actress Anita Morris and actor/choreographer Grover Dale. At 10 he was picked out of his 5th grade class in Wonderland Elementary School to play Simon in Lord Of The Flies. After five months on location in Jamaica, he returned to California and took a pause from the industry. He pursued hockey and played as a goalie at Manhattanville College until an injury prevented him from playing. This break from sports re-ignited his passion for acting and he decided to move to NYC to train as an actor.

Since then, and in addition to working on several award-winning TV series, he’s been in multiple feature films including The Departed with Jack Nicholson, Iron Man 3, World War Z, The Lone Ranger, Parkland, and Only The Brave. Currently you can watch him starring as Detective Ray Abruzzo in STARZ’s new crime drama Hightown.
