“I approached the comedy through character, not just aimed straight for comedy.”

“I’m a performer. I’m an artist. I like becoming other people. I like playing characters. I’m not Famous Person on a Famous Journey.”

“I need to challenge myself, and grow as an artist, and it just…something shifted in the matrix, literally.”

“You are never going to fail if you stay true to your own goals and purposes.”

“Be the most rebellious version of yourself, which is to not listen to what anybody else thinks you should be doing, or thinks they know who you are, because the only person who truly knows who you are, and knows what your goals, and your purpose in this world is YOU. And you have to stay true in that.”

“If I’m not 100 percent me in the role, I can’t be authentic in my acting…Even if it’s a different character, I have to make it myself.”

“I had this light bulb moment…My ego is so obsessed with result that I’m missing the actual point of all of this, which is knowledge, and learning and joy.”

“I guess through teaching it made me relax and just kind of surrender to the moment.”

“As actors we are so much validating ourselves by the measure of our success, and the measure of the success of others, and I was measuring my talent by how successful I was, and that is a slippery slope, man.”

“If you want to be a good actor I think you have to learn who you are first, before you can be anybody else.”

017: Steve Howey 1500 1000 Alyshia Ochse

From nuanced and honest portrayals of fatherhood-gone-wild across the eighth season of Showtime’s EMMY® Award-nominated series SHAMELESS to palpable intensity on the likes of SONS OF ANARCHY, Steve Howey reflects a classic masculinity on-screen equally steeped in humor and heart. That timeless leading man spark and quiet strength remain signatures of the acclaimed actor, writer, producer, and entrepreneur.  Achieving a basketball scholarship to junior college in Colorado, he played two seasons before pursuing his calling as an actor. He would go from SOMETHING BORROWED alongside Kate Hudson, Jon Krasinski, and Jennifer Goodwin to BRIDE WARS where he re-teamed with Hudson, Anne Hathaway, and Chris Pratt to SUPERCROSS, LOSING CONTROL, UNLEASHED, IN YOUR EYES, and SEE YOU IN VALHALLA.

Steve currently can be seen in all 8 seasons of the critically acclaimed show SHAMELESS on Showtime and the anticipated film MAKING BABIES.
