Kathleen Garrett

Kathleen Garrett 820 410 Alyshia Ochse

Kathleen Garrett can currently be seen in Netflix’s record breaking, blockbuster hit, INVENTING ANNA, as the high fashion, hard-to-please, gallerist Sasha Thomas. She is also in another blockbuster of a different kind as Deskka, the sage warrior chaplain, in the #1 video game of the year, HORIZON FORBIDDEN WEST. To add to her string of successes, she plays Former First Lady Laura Bush opposite Viola Davis’ Michelle Obama in Showtimes’s most prestigious project, THE FIRST LADY premiering April 17. She started off the year recently guest starring, to critical acclaim, in Dick Wolf’s FBI as the grieving, yet pointedly direct, Nicole Trenholm. Classically trained in New York and London, Kathleen’s range runs the gamut of roles from drama queens in Greek tragedies to slapstick comediennes in sitcoms. She is a recipient of a Screen Actors Guild Award, The Drama Critics Circle Award, Garland Award, LA Weekly Award, Robbie Award, and Ovation Nomination. She is one of the few actors to be awarded the international Clio Award and The Women’s League of Advertising Award (Lulu Award) for Best Performance in a commercial. Her extensive voice-over work includes national campaigns, video games, narrations on series, mini-series, and documentaries.

10,000 NOs: Enjoying the Journey More than the Win

Matthew Del Negro grew up in Westchester County, New York and graduated from Boston College, where he played Division I Lacrosse. His acting career began in small theatre productions in New York while he was bartending, before landing a pivotal recurring role on Season 4 of HBO’s groundbreaking series, The Sopranos opposite James Gandolfini and Edie Falco. Using that momentum, Matt segued onto Aaron Sorkin’s critically-acclaimed NBC series, The West Wing and Diablo Cody’s series for Showtime, The United States of Tara.

Scandal gained him wide recognition as an actor with range. He followed that with a turn in the critical and Box Office hit, Wind River, starring Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olsen before landing a coveted role on the 2nd Season of Amazon’s Goliath. Following his darkly dramatic turn on Goliath with a layered, scene-stealing comedic portrayal of down-on-his-luck actor Jason Alan Ross on Netflix’s Huge in France, Del Negro proved that he is capable of comedy as well as drama.

In July of 2017, Matt launched his podcast, 10,000 NOs, where he sits down with top-shelf folks from all walks of life about the rejections they’ve had to endure and struggles they’ve had to overcome on their journey to where they are today. He has since become one of the faces of Perseverance, Resilience, and Grit as his podcast has ranked in the top 100 Apple Career Podcasts in the USA, Australia, and Canada. The podcast also led to a publishing deal with Wiley & Sons, who published his book, 10,000 NOs: How to Overcome Rejection on the Way to Your YES.

QUOTES:

“I’m sick of waiting to be hired to be creative… I’m going to follow my string of inspiration and hopefully, if I’m scratching my own itch, that’s going to scratch a bunch of other people’s itches too.”

“Truthfully, the podcast, which I started a little over 3 years ago, has done so much for me. That’s really what it was, it was a lifeline that I threw to myself.”

“Whether you’re talking about getting a particular job or getting a particular award, there’s so much that goes into that that’s out of your control. So it’s almost irrelevant. It’s the person you become on the way.”

Patience, Persistence, and Asking for What You Need

Live from NYC with Claire Coffee. From her first big job in LA on The West Wing, to her series regular role on NBC’s hit show Grimm, Claire has seen first-hand what it takes to take a career from recurring co-star to one of the leads of a major series. She shares how living as an actor in New York is different than in LA, how important improv was to expanding her work and community, and how she’s learned to speak up for herself and set boundaries on set. She walks us through life after a series regular role, and how she’s learned how to keep creating, even when things didn’t go how she expected.

Born in Marin County in Northern California, Claire Coffee graduated from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois with a degree in Theater. She began performing on stage at age 5 in The Mountain Play Theater Company’s production of “The King and I” in Mill Valley, CA. Not long after moving to Los Angeles, she was cast in The West Wing. Since then she has appeared on NCIS, General Hospital, Royal Pains, and is most known for her role as Adalinde Schade on NBC’s hit show GRIMM. In addition to her extensive television and film credits, she has also trained at The Groundlings, Upright Citizens Brigade, and Improv Olympic. Recently, she has been cast in the anticipated new show LINCOLN, set to premier next year.
